Tom and Irene Collins Farewell gathering
Sunday 13th March 2011

On Sunday 13th March 2011, many St. Joseph's Parishioners gathered in St. Joseph's hall to mark the occasion of Tom and Irene leaving the Parish
to start a new life in the north of England near Newcastle.
Tom has been in the Parish for nearly 50 years as is a very highly respected man who will be missed by many people.
The gardens at St. Joseph's have always been looked after by Tom and his band of helpers and have also won many prizes for the "Newbury in Bloom" competitions that take place each year.
It was lovely to see so many Parishioners turn out to wish him well on his journey, Tom was a regular 8.30am Mass attender but was known by just about everyone in the Parish.
He will be missed by many people and I certainly heard people talking of him with very high regard at the farewell gathering.
Below are a few photographs that I took, if you would like any printed out or emailed to you then let me know by sending me an email on
anne-thompson@stjosephsnewbury.org.uk and I will arrange to get copies of the photographs to you.

It was a lovely gathering and a fitting farewell to such a popular character at St. Joseph's.
