St. Joseph's Quiz Night ~ Including Photos from the evening.
On Friday 28th September St. Joseph's held their very first "Quiz Night" in the Parish Hall.
The evening was very well attended and a total of £600 was raised through ticket sales and the raffle that took place on the night.
The monies raised was split between two charities evenly :-
£300 will be sent to our sister Diocese of Bamenda in the Cameroons and £300 to "The Canon Zollo Fund" which is used for the Handicapped Children's Pilgrimage Trust.
This will be used to send a handicapped child to Lourdes during Easter week next year. Click here to view the website for HCPT.
Our quizmaster's for the evening were Chris Bartlam and David Downie (you will spot them in the photos below, you can't mistake Chris he has the England rugby shirt on) not
forgetting of course England's victory over Tonga on the evening as well !!
The winning team on the night were “Odds & Sods” namely Jeremy & Maureen Smith, John & Maureen Thompson, George Oluwande and Carol Bartlam.
Thankfully there was no prize for the "Wooden Spoon" I don't think Fr Pat would have wanted to collect that prize !!
I am sure you would agree in saying a massive thank you to everyone who was involved in making the quiz night such a fantastic and successful evening, a lot of hard work went into organizing the event
and I am sure that we will see another event like this in due course.
Below are some photographs taken during the evening, click on the photo to view a larger image and also a list of the raffle winners.
If you went to the quiz night and you would like to add any comments then please email anne-thompson@stjosephsnewbury.org.uk and I will add them on to this page, it would be good to hear some feedback from the night if you wish to remain anonymous then that can be arranged too. Just don't be too harsh on Fr Pat for not knowing who Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu was, it was an easy mistake to make !!!!
I certainly enjoyed the evening and I look forward to hearing your comments!!

Hopefully some comments from you will appear here soon ~ please email anne-thompson@stjosephsnewbury.org.uk
